The KIV-500 vertical gear grinding machine arranged with 5 axis CNC concept. It is equipped with self developed dialogue software featuring user friendly interface, data storage, automatic compensation, and profile and lead modification features. Using a compound grinding center concept and a single diamond dressing roller, the machine can generate straight lines, arcs, involute profiles, and complex combined curves in any direction. Stable dressing quality with excellent repeatability and optimized dressing disc tool life features. It achieves standard Grade 4 for ISO Class gear machining accuracy.
First, a CNC grinding wheel is shaped according to the required tooth profile of the gear ring using a grinding wheel dresser, and then the gear ring is ground using the shaped grinding wheel. Compared with traditional grinding methods, this method has the advantages of high grinding efficiency, high tooth profile accuracy, simple machine tool mechanism, and convenient debugging, use and maintenance, making it suitable for mass production of high precision gear rings.

The control system employs an 8070 CNC system manufactured by the Spanish company Fagor, driven by imported servo motors. The system operates automatically under program control and features power outage and power failure protection, zeroing, and fault diagnosis functions. It includes a built-in PLC and RS232 communication interface.
Computer aided programming is used, with our self-developed automatic programming software featuring a human-machine interface, menu-driven input, and storage of machining parameters.
The machine tool has an automatic gear setting function.
The machine tool uses diamond roller dressing wheels and achieves normal shaping through a three-axis CNC linkage system.
The diamond roller swing axis (C-axis) is driven by an AC servo motor through a high precision worm gear pair, with semi-closed-loop control. During grinding wheel dressing, the rotation angle range is ±90º.
The machine tool grinding spindle features AC frequency conversion speed regulation, enabling constant surface speed grinding.
This machine tool uses diamond rollers to dress grinding wheels, achieving normal shaping through a CNC three axis linkage.
Advantages:
1. Reduces the requirements on the profile shape of the diamond rollers, extends their service life, and significantly reduces operating costs.
2. The same diamond roller can dress straight lines, arcs, involutes, and their combinations in any direction, and the tooth profile is unaffected by wear on the diamond roller shape, resulting in high dressing accuracy.
3. The dresser is mounted on the left side of the longitudinal movement axis, relatively fixed to the workpiece mounting position, improving the accuracy and stability of the grinding process.
